Syavash

He was the son of King Kay Kavus. Accused of a false crime, Syavash was forced by his stepmother to undergo a trial by fire. In a Zoroastrian context, this trial represents a purification test, where his innocence would be proven if he emerged unscathed. Syavash's purity and righteousness led him to survive the flames unharmed, earning him the respect of the people.

مگر کآتش تیز پیدا کند/ گنه کرده را زود رسوا کند

Except when the swift fire reveals,
Exposes the guilty, and swiftly deals.

Ãrra zar vasūt milē tik imá yarí
Girim zar vasūt samá cuvík imá yarí

Egol e ye elim párágole tuelís

Zephir

How hard the sadness is of being apart. The poet is a young girl who had to get married, which made her go far away from her sister, who was her best friend.

My sister, let's share both summer's sun and winter's frost,
By each other's side we'll stand strong, no matter what's lost.

Though future leads us separate ways, to places far and wide,
I'll await you from a distance, watching with hope and pride.

Love's spark burns bright within the one who freely gives,
While love received, like wind, roams free, wherever life lives.
